Care and Use

Pour water into the Sport Berkey Portable Water Purifier,  securely tighten the cap to eliminate leaks. Pull down the shield to expose the straw, and squeeze water through the filter & out the straw. Repeat this flushing process two times before drinking. This flushes process dust from the filter. After two flushes, rinse the bottle & cap. Your sport water filter bottle is now ready for use!

Maintenance and Storage of your Sport Berkey

The Sport Berkey Portable Water Purifier has a storage shelf life of 50 years. When the filter system is not in use for an extended period of time, flush the unit with a solution of 1/4 tsp. of household bleach (chlorine) per one half gallon of water. Allow to thoroughly  dry  with bottom cap removed. Re-assemble and store. Do not allow your filter to freeze, do not place your Sport Berkey in the microwave oven and do not run water above 100F  through the filter.
